6.1 F02 group Spindle vfd Characteristic parameters of motors
When the parameters on motor nameplates are correctly input and the test of motor parameters has be carried out, if the rotating speed of main shaft changes slightly during cutting of machine tools, [F02.00] can be used to calibrate and fine-tune the rotating speed. If the rotating speed of main shaft decreases, [F02.00] can be increased gradually; on the contrary [F02.00] can be decreased gradually. After calibration of machine tools before delivery, even though the cutting load changes, this parameter need not be adjusted again. After the test of motor parameters, this parameter will be automatically modified to 1.00. If the parameters on motor nameplates are correctly input, in general readjustment of this parameter is not necessary.
Please set the rated frequency and voltage of the motors accurately in accordance with motor nameplates to prevent the risk of damage to the motors.
Caution: before rigid fine-tuning of [F02.00], please set the other parameters in F02 group accurately, and a test of motor parameters should be carried out before that.
The above parameters must be set accurately according to the parameters on motor nameplates to obtain better torque characteristics. No-load current of the motors will be automatically modified to test value after the test of motor parameters without manual setting.
Tip: in general the rated rotating speed of 4-pole main shaft motors is 1440RPM, and the rated rotating speed of non-brand 4-pole motors with inferior characteristics is 1400~1440RPM. The rated rotating speed of 6-pole motors is 960RPM, and the rated rotating speed of 6-pole motors with inferior characteristics is 920~960RPM. The rated current of the motors if unknown can be set by referring to the rated current of the frequency converters in corresponding sizes, or keeping the factory defaults.

These parameters are used for on-line test of the other motor parameters. If 1 is set, the keyboard displays “P.tESt”, and after start and run, the spindle VFD automatically test motor parameters. If the test succeeds, “SUCCE” is displayed, on the contrary if the test fails, “FAILd” is displayed. For detailed operations, please refer to page 22.
Tip: in order to give better play to performance of the frequency converters, please run this function once during system debugging. Before run please ensure the above parameters on motor nameplates are accurately set and motor wiring is perfect.
Caution: in order to ensure development of torque characteristics of the spindle VFD , before initial run users must perform self-learning operation of motor parameters, otherwise, once started “P.tESt” is displayed and the motors do not run!
During the test of motor parameters, the motors will rotate themselves, and accidental injury should be prevented!
